Susanna and the Magical Orchestra
After 2 weeks of partly shitty music finally listening to good stuff again. I've just imported the new track of Susanna and the Magical Orchestra - Love will tear us apart. What a relief. :)
Melbourne-Alice Springs
Back home, tired and glad to see Stella and Poppy again. Strange if so many things can change only within 2 weeks. I probably have recieved too many alarming emails only within the last 2 weeks while travelling through the outback from Melbourne to Alice Springs. It'll take a while to catch up with everyone. But I hope everyone will be alright in the end. Now that I unfortunately also have extra time next week I can spend some time on making new plans. And maybe also spend some time thinking about all the great places I have seen within this short period of time. One of the highlights: Waterfalls at Uluru due to heavy rain, the 12 apostels from above, finaly heaps of wild cangaroos and some other nice little stories to tell. But not today... 1st a nice shower and 2nd a bed and finally a good sleep again...

The Underpants
Had lovely day with a nice coffee in the morning on the veranda in the back with some pics of Uluru, a successful shopping of a new jacket by Marmot on Kent Street, another coffee at Darling Harbour and evening with a very entertaining play of The Underpants at the Zenith theater in Chatswood. Surprisingly got a bottle of white wine helping painting some of the pink furniture for the play. It was a indeed a very nice day and tomorrow I'm on the road. From Melbourne to Alice Springs by bus. I hope this is going to be fun. :)

Old joy
Hm, I don't know if one needs to see this movie. I had fund in terms of seeing a strange US movie while being so untypical for any american movie I have seen in my whole life. Strange and sad at the same time and also a little bit boring.

Who the heck...
did the "our bridge" design collaterals for the 75th anniversary of Sydney's harbour bridge. I like it. The whole city is full of all the nice posters and little information brochures and banners but there's no name, no anything. Grrrrrr. And I stop searching now and go to the bed.

Dee Why
My highlight of the day. Spontaneously getting of the bus at Dee Why and taking a walk at the beach. Nice.
Some people might understand...
why I got rid of some things in my life, put my stuff together and stored my belongings in a storehouse in Hamburg, left my family, my friends and my job for a while, took a long flight to the other side of the world, did some work for free and had fun and faced some new problems but still enjoy my life in one of the most beautiful city on earth, by just spending some time at the beach or at a nice market or hanging around at some nice book shops. And some people just don't get it. But that's nmp ( not my problem).

Susa goes Cyclic Defrost
Just helped Bim a friend of a friend of mine, who's the art director of Cyclic Defrost, an Australian music magazine, with two layouts for the relaunch of the magazine. I hope the printing goes well and there are soon some new and nice magazines out there. :)
Which way to go...
While sitting outside on the veranda, still, listening to one of my main favourite cds I've bought in the last few months which I've actually bought as birthday present for a friend of mine, I could stay here forever. And now the Melbourne based band is carefully saved on my little laptop and making me happy with music and lyrics like:
The thing about grief is
Few people know that the I goes before the E
And it's hard to give away because it's
The last thing you gave to me.
I've scrambled it together and
Collaged it in a lighted frame
Sometimes I'm scared to speak your name.
Ooh you were young a beautiful
You should have grown to be old
Like I'll grow old - no you will not.
You left me here to join the dots
I'm gonna speak them.
I like verandas.
Especially since yesterday evening, since my unwired modem has decided only to recieve any signals outside on the veranda. Anyway. As long it's not cold outside, verandas can be very cosy. Especially that one here, where I get connected to the rest of the world.

When I was a child...
our slightly crazy neighbour always used to go out in the rain of a thunderstorm wearing a green bathing slip. As I was very afraid of the lightning, hiding inside, I always tried convincing him to go back into the house. But the only thing he responded to me was: Don't worry, when you are wearing a green swim suit nothing happens to you. So now I'm wondering what happened, if I had taken this nasty guy seriously and had taken my clothes off to climb up the roof and had told him that Germans wearing green swim suits will never be struck by lightning. Bastard - who led me to another little illustration. ;)
Thunderstorms...
may blow your brain away. If you have one. Some people don't. Or they just don't like the "Krauts" or "Schoermans". Anyway. The suggestion for me to climb up the roof at work and lift my arms up high while a thunderstrom was going on let me to this little illustration. :)
