Strange that sometimes a certain smell will always be linked with certain memories, e.g. tealights remind me of so many nights and evenings at a house somewhere in Lilyfield/Sydney some years ago. :)

I don't know what I can save ...

Strange time these days, the song of the day is the one by Kings of Convenience, again another nice person is unfortunatley leaving the boat, and maybe a friend is coming closer. I've just started the week with a Lahmacun and a beer on the Reeperbahn and the wish to spend one evening at the sea before the summer leads into the cold autumn where heating systems would make it more bearable. But as long as things are not there yet I'm happy with my hot-water-bottle and I'll try to keep on waving.

Streets are burning

Every year the same story: First a little nice street market and a peaceful block party, then a little bit of burning rubbish bins and then hundreds of policemen with water guns storming the Schanzenviertel while party people in cafes and pubs watching it. I'm wondering what happened if no policemen came. At least I had a better sleep this time as no police car was passing by window with flashing blue lights the whole night through.

Where's all the ice gone?

All the politicians who are not willing to support climate change programms should go to one of the glaciers and watch the ice disappearing.
