Damn, we're killing our brand...
I was about to go to bed there was this nasty dumb german television show coming into my mind - "Darling, we're killing our kids" by RTL2 is about parents and their poor fat kids who get a family training to get rid of kilos and start eating healthy stuff again. To convince the parents to start doing something they were shown how the kids will look like in 10, 20 years if nothing is going to happen. The reason why I had to think about this computer animation is based on a discussion I had with a very good friend of mine the other day. It was about clients and solutions for some daily business problems which the whole circle of advertising agencies and companies have to face day by day. We ended up in a heavy discussion, me by saying that there must be solutions for finding the right tools and for guiding clients in the right direction and my disillusioned friend was saying that the only solution is to get rid of your job and your clients and start something new and stop thinking of the whole processes anymore. And in addition to that I said it might be nice to be a consultant than less an operator every day, and my friend was convinced that it would not getting better and that the problems will just be the same. Because "clients" will face more and more bad conditions for their work as well. And in the end everyone is ending up with a decision making process which has nothing to do with strategic planning anymore and more with political reasons or time problems and so on. So I was thinking about what could people keep away from treating their brands like those people mentioned above treat their children. Cook the wrong nasty fast food, don't exercise enough and forget about how much they would like to have a healthy brand. As it is late already again I just wanted to mentioned that I like the idea of having a tool which could show the right and the wrong treatment. Anyway It's already late again. :)
Tropfest 2007 winners announced...
Nice, although a little bit sqeezed, we were sitting in the friends and family area of Tropfest yesterday and enjoying the finalists 2007. One of my main favourites won - a cute little story about the existance of imaginary friends. :) A handmade animation and great idea. Although the filmfest was expecting more than 800 entries this year, they recieved 600 entries in the end. And luckily they had some very friendly volunteers typing every entry by hand into the computer. I'm really wondering why no one thought about an online registration yet? Anyway I had fun and it was intersting to see how people handed in their films and which one them were lucky to succeed...

Let me introduce you - Mrs Huntsman
I think it's getting nasty if spiders make noises when running over the carpet, although they are harmless. Now Mrs Huntsman is sitting outside, in neighbours garden, on a leaf, wet and pissed off, because she didn't want to leave and because they've just watered the garden. :)

"The Germans..."
"...are the new Indians", I was tought by a pretty cheeky Australian guy. In fact the whole city seems to be overtaken by the "New Indians". In the morning in the bus, in the evening in bars, again in the bus and everywhere. "Noah nue, ob des schon Bondiiii is? Oder solln mal mol liebor noch Damaramoah fahren?" But luckily the city is also filled up with all sorts of nationalities. Yesterday in the evening on my bus a group of 4 happy Mexicans, speaking Spanish to the whole bus and talking to some American girls. In the end they ended up talking in German which was pretty strange. Mexican boy: He, seid Ihr Deuschoe? American girl: Nein, isch komme doch aus Wisconsin. Mexican boy: Kennt Ihr Erfurt? Isch hobe oin Johr in Erfurt (poor guy) gelebt. American girl: Nein, isch habe nur ein Jahr im Norden gelebt, in der Naehe von Koeln (aha, Cologne is in the north of Germany?). Anyway, that was fun.
And now some Swiss German for Advanced Speakers, please try the right pronunciation of: Bircher Muesli. In English it's Burcher Mewsli.
