Usually I don't do things like that and I'm probably not going to link other blogs. But as reading through other blogs like Katharina's "the-daily-mess", I thought I could also add my comments here.
Size:
When I was a kid I was always much bigger (taller) than other kids, too. One day I ended up at a friend's house trying to get access to an hammock hanging under a tree. When the evil mum of my friend saw it she stopped me by telling me I was too heavy. As I was mostly a very sensible and understanding child I let it be. But only after a few minutes I saw my friend's mum lying in the hammock. B*t#*
Boys:
When I was younger I was also much taller than any other boys from my class. One day there was this nice little boy telling me, that he would only eat meat sandwiches until he's taller than me. In fact he never maneged it and I realized that some things don't work out even if you're trying hard enough.
Computers:
I failed a computer course organized by a German Sparkasse, when I was 14. At that time I decided not to choose a job with the need of using any computers. Two years later a teacher also recommended me to stop the computer course at school because he didn't want to give me too bad marks, as I was one of 4 girls trying to understand the world of computers. At that time I decided to become a designer... I was young, very young...
Internships:
I stopped my first internship after one week. The owner of an unkonwn advertising agency in Bonn was an evil unshaved bad smelling guy. In my first job interview he was trying to make me nervous by saying: I see you have talent but you don't have any computer skills, so what do you want? I said I would like to learn something and I could also leave his office if he doesn't want me. Unfortunatley he told me to stay and as I didn't have any alternative at that time I stayed. After one week, trying to train myself with a massive user manual and no introduction by any of his staff, and this monk, trying to be so provocative, I decided to leave. Fortunately I was offered another internship at an even better agency with friendly people willing to teach something and I started to love little apples. And only after 6 months I was able to work at BURDA in the production team. And I decided that it's better to leave places before getting stuck.
Australia:
When I was a child I had a toy which I loved from the bottom of my heart. It was a kangaroo.
