Another piece of advice. If cold dont work, take hot and keep it in a vessel until it´ll naturally cool down. You might accelerate the process by placing the liquid filled vessel onto your porch.
Or mix it with ice cubes. They´ll melt and give their coldness to the neighbouring hot water particles, making them mellow and medium temperated.
